Maintain your career momentum

It is easy to think that once you secured your new role you can sit back and everything will take care of itself.

But it wont!

It is still in your hands and you are still the only one that can ensure that you maintain direction and momentum in your career.

Just as you have done in the earlier modules of this program, it is important for you to plan what you would like to achieve in your new role and how you are going to get there.

This role may be your ‘dream job’ but you may view this job as a ‘stepping stone’ to your goal.

Regularly checking whether your position is aligned with your goals is important. Ask yourself, where can this role take me? What do I need to do to get there?

At times, you may decide to pursue a new direction with your career and therefore you may redefine your professional objectives.

Just like the steps that got you here, staying in charge and maintaining the momentum can also be a staged process.
