Personality can be defined as a dynamic and organised set of characteristics possessed by a person that uniquely influences his or her thoughts, motivations, and behaviours.

Having an understanding of who you are enables you to effectively promote the positive aspects of yourself to others.

You may have never put down in writing aspects of your personality even though you may have a good understanding of the type of person you are.

Like the seven dwarves we all have characteristics that make us unique some maybe viewed as positive aspects and others negative but it important to understand each of these aspects and paint a wholistic view of yourself. Understanding aspects of yourself that others may find positive or challenging enables to you be aware of how you impact others and can help you to build strategies around how you can promote yourself most effectively and the types of roles you would be more suited to. Let's face it "Grumpy" would not be recommended for a customer service role! 

So think about how you see yourself and how others view you.

Think about ... Do you have clear evidence of your accomplishments for the traits you select.

After you identify your personality traits ask someone who knows you well to select your main traits from the original list and them compare them with those selected by you.  Transfer your strongest traits to your Career Map.
